Workshops for schools and kindergartens

Programmes for institutions in and around Cluj-Napoca.

I work with schools and kindergartens in Cluj-Napoca and the surrounding county: a theme day, a single workshop, or a full week. I build the programme together with the teaching team, starting from your actual classes rather than selling everyone the same package.

What I can run

  • A full themed week

    A five-day programme with written objectives, materials and timing. It arrives ready to drop into your activity plan, and gets adjusted to your classes.

  • Outdoor days

    Activities in the school yard, a park or the edge of the woods, in a forest school format: the same place, repeated sessions, unstructured time and real risk held safely.

  • Creative workshops

    Sessions of 60–90 minutes on a theme — art, music, natural materials — after which every child has something they made, not a kit they assembled.

  • Environmental education

    Workshops about nature and conservation, built out of my work at a marine conservation centre in Thailand — with real tasks rather than presentations.

  • Open day activities

    Activities for children and parents on the same day, designed so parents have something to do rather than only something to photograph.

  • Session with the teaching team

    A workshop for educators about free play, unstructured time, and what an outdoor session held safely actually looks like in practice.

About the Romanian “Școala Altfel” week

Școala Altfel is the Romanian school week in which the curriculum stops and has to be filled with something else. In practice that “something else” often ends up being a film, an improvised trip, and three days of writing an activity plan that has to be submitted anyway.

I arrive with the programme already written: five days, each with a theme, with objectives phrased so they go straight into the documentation, plus the materials list and a bad-weather fallback. You choose what to keep and what to change.

The format is built for groups of 15–30 children and works from the final kindergarten year up to year four. Most activities happen outdoors, in the school yard or a nearby green space, so no special room is needed.

If you only need one of the five days, that works too. Write to me with your classes and the week it falls on.

    You write to me

    You tell me the institution, the classes, the number of children and the period.

    A written proposal

    You get the programme day by day, with objectives, materials, timing and cost — in a form you can attach to your documentation.

  3. 03

    Adjusting with the team

    We go through the proposal with the teachers and change whatever does not fit your group.

  4. 04

    Running the programme

    I bring the materials, run the activities and stay until everything is packed down. Teaching staff can join in or simply supervise.

Frequently asked questions for institutions

Can the programme cover just one day?
Yes. A school can request one workshop, a theme day or a five-day programme adapted to the participating classes.
What happens when the weather prevents outdoor work?
The proposal includes an indoor fallback and the materials needed for both situations.
What does the school receive before approval?
A proposal covering objectives, activities, timings, materials, responsibilities and cost, which can be revised with the teaching team.
